Inspired by the classic U-87 and designed as a versatile studio workhorse, the Icon Pro Audio Space 103 is a cardioid, large-diaphragm condenser mic with high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, and very low self noise of just 8 dBA. With silky smooth highs, an open midrange, and a tight, detailed low-end response, the Space 103 excels on a wide range of instruments and voices.
The wide dynamic range of 128 dB and SPL handling of 123 dB allows the Space 103 to easily capture pianos, drum overheads, guitars, classical instruments, and much more. It's optimal transient response also makes it an ideal choice for broadcasts. The frequency response is fine-tuned to require minimal EQ processing in postproduction. The transformer is designed to ensure a transparent and distortion-free sound, without excessive coloration. The cardioid pattern rejects noise from the rear and sides, focusing on your sound source. With a rugged all-metal design, this microphone is built to last. The Space 103 includes a durable shockmount.
