The Claw from Matthews is designed to safely mount Astera LED light tubes using a 5/8" baby pin and an adjustable tube clamp. This is a universal solution for rigging tube lights to any number of industry standard mounting points.
Unlike mounting hardware where the pin mounts at a right angle to the tube, The Claw's pin mounts off the back to maintain a low profile. This allows the Astera Helios, Titan, or Hyperion to remain close to rigging points and take advantage of hard-to-reach spaces. The pin is also equipped with a female 1/4"-20 thread for further mounting flexibility. Rotate the Claw's threaded baby pin to precisely adjust the clamp's four "fingers" and the tubes are tightly secured thanks to over 180° of clamping range. This adjustment system helps to provide optimal grip strength without the possibility of crushing the housing of the light tube; internal magnets keep the clamp open while attaching a tube. While engineered with Astera tubes and the VeeBoxx softbox enclosure in mind, the Claw will also accept other T12 size linear light fixtures (available separately).
