The ARRI MLW-1 Master Grip Left Wheel Basic Set for 3rd-Party Cameras is a Left Wheel Master Grip set for controlling prime lenses on a variety of third-party (non-ARRI) cameras. A standard (non-electronic) right-hand grip, an LCUBE CUB-1 signal converter, and an assortment of cables for third-party cameras are included with the set. This Master Grip combination offers left-handed, wheel-style focus/iris control. The ARRI Master Grips offer handheld camera stabilization with handgrip control of focus, iris, and zoom (where applicable) settings; end limits can be set for easier single-user F/I/Z moves. Camera controls include the REC function, a 5-way joystick, and assignable user buttons.

This set includes one MLW-1 Master Grip Left Wheel, a SGR-1 Standard Right Grip, a signal converter, accessories, and cables. A hard-shell case with custom-cut foam cradles the components when transporting and storing the set.

ARRI Standard Grip Right SGR-1

The ARRI Standard Grip Right SGR-1 is a lightweight, non-electronic handgrip. With basically the same ergonomic design as the ARRI Master Grips, the SGR-1 will comfortably complement a Master Grip Left Rocker or Wheel.

The SGR-1 incorporates a standard ARRI rosette for attaching to a handgrip extension, rod bridge support, or directly to the camera body.

ARRI Master Grips: Comprehensive Handheld Control

The ARRI Master Grip series combines handheld camera stabilization with comprehensive lens and camera control. With a form factor based on the classic ARRI handgrips, the Master Grips add flexible and responsive fingertip control for handheld shooting. Aimed at ALEXA, AMIRA, and third-party camera operators, the Master Grips can also be mounted on tripod pan handles, and on pedestal heads for controlling cameras in studio or multicamera setups.

FIZ and Run/Stop Functions

A pair of Master Grips provide full control of focus, iris, and zoom settings on cine-style lenses, and offer comfortable control of integrated servo motors on ENG- and EF-type lenses. Focus, iris, and zoom speeds are adjustable, and end limits can be set for easier single-user moves. Camera controls include the REC function and access to user buttons for both ARRI and third-party cameras. A separately available LCUBE CUB-1 is required for third-party camera control.

Ergonomic Design

The ergonomic design of the Master Grips reduces strain, enabling extended handheld operating; an "eyebrow"-type shield protects against accidental triggering and doubles as a finger rest. The left-handed wheel is one of four available Master Grip options that can be combined in right- or left-handed pairs. The rocker grips enable super-smooth zooming, while the thumb wheels are suited for focusing or iris, or adjustments. An integrated touchscreen and a 5-way joystick each offer easy setup of the ARRI Master Grips.

Compatibility

• Compatible with ARRI ALEXA, AMIRA, and third-party cameras, the Master Grips enable you to control multiple functions while also adding stability to your shoulder-mounted capture.

Hi-5 and WCU-4 Use

• Split control for trickier moves between two users with zoom assigned to your Master Grip and focus and iris relegated to your WCU-4 hand unit.
• The Master Grips can even override the Hi-5 or WCU-4 unit when an operator has a better sense of the shot than the A.C.

Device Setup

• Set up your Master Grips using the touchscreen interface or the 5-way joystick.
• Buttons are user assignable for customized control.

LBUS Interface

Two LBUS ports provide an interface for your camera and lens connections.

Handgrip Form

• An integrated shield both protects against accidental triggering and acts as a finger rest.

ARRI Handgrip Extension (6.3")

The black, 6.3" tubular ARRI Handgrip Extension fits between an ARRI Master Grip or handgrip, and your camera or rig base. Use the extension to position the grip comfortably based on your rig configuration. This rosette-based extension is constructed from stainless steel, and is the middle length of three available versions.

The Handgrip Extension's notched rosette design ensures a stable fit, fastening with an integrated, winged screw.

ARRI LCUBE CUB-1 LBUS to Serial Converter with Bracket

The ARRI LCUBE CUB-1 Serial Converter changes LBUS protocols to serial protocols and vice versa. This multi-purpose protocol converter can be used for different functions in various camera setups. Use the CUB-1 and one or more cforce motors (not included) to connect a UDM-1 Distance Measure to an ALEXA Mini. The CUB-1 will also enable ARRI electronic control system accessories such as Master Grips to communicate with select 3rd-party cameras.

A vari-colored LED indicates the status of the CUB-1's SETUP button. A quick-release bracket with a 3/8"-16 screw is included with the converter. The CUB-1 does not include an LBUS cable (available separately).

The ARRI Master Grip Case is designed to hold a complete set of the Master Grip electronic-control components. Store and transport one right and one left Master Grip, two handgrip extensions and one extension tube, three motors, two LCUBE signal converters with brackets, and corresponding cables. This hard-shell case's custom-cut foam interior snugly cradles the Master Grip set items.
