The Niagara 2120 SD Streaming Encoder from Sony is a portable SD video encoder of NTSC or PAL signals, suitable for use by Houses of Worship, local government, corporate communications, and other users who need a flexible multi-stream SD video encoder. The unit is small enough to be easily carried in the field, and is DC powered, requiring 12VDC to operate. The unit includes an AC to DC power adapter, so you can rack mount it into a rack system in a facility if you choose.
The streaming encoder accepts either component, s-video, or composite video signals, and features balanced and unbalanced audio inputs. It encodes the input signals to Adobe Flash H.264 files. The built-in web browser interface provides easily accessible control of the unit from a network connection that allows you to start streaming, or assign multiple stream profiles that can be started from the unit's front panel. The Niagara 2100 can encode several streams simultaneously, with each stream configured differently. It features useful functions such as Scaling and closed caption rendering to the input video signal, before it encodes for streaming.
