The Vinten Vision 100 System with flowtech 100 Legs, Mid-Level Spreader & Case consists of a Vinten 100 fluid head, a set of 100mm flowtech carbon fiber legs, a carrying handle, and a soft case. The system supports cameras weighing between 15.4 and 44.1 pounds. The Vision 100 head features continuous—not stepped—counterbalance with a digital readout for precise adjustments and smooth operation. The sideload system provides a sliding plate for fine-tuning the balance of your camera on the head while allowing for quick mounting and dismounting of the camera plate.

The 100mm flowtech legs are lightweight, corrosion resistant, strong, and feature a removable mid-level spreader and removable feet. The 100mm bowl enables supporting heavier camera loads than a 75mm bowl, and the increased diameter provides a wider platform for balancing your camera on the included head. Each leg features a single lever lock at the top which allows you to quickly adjust the length of the sections in each leg. Perfect Balance

The Vision 100 pan & tilt head achieves the Perfect Counter Balance by means of an innovative and patented infinitely-variable spring mechanism. This allows the head to tilt through the full range of ±90° in perfect balance, eliminating a considerable amount of physical effort required by the operator to control the tilting action. Since the camera is perfectly balanced, it can be left at any angle - totally hands free - without having to lock the tilt brake. The variable counterbalance mechanism allows it to be used with a variety of lenses, batteries, viewfinders and on-camera lights.

For even faster setup, the Vision 100 offers a digital counterbalance readout, with repeatable balance setting. The display is activated by a simple press of a button and remains visible for 15 seconds.

TF (Thin Film) Drag Control

The Vision 100 uses the Vinten TF (Thin Film) damping system, to provide consistent drag and constant performance in demanding conditions from -40°F to +140°F. The TF system offers total control, for precise movement and excellent camera control during the critical slow start-up of your shot. Providing seamless transition into Whip Pan and instant recovery to the original drag setting at the finish of the movement.
Calibrated with variable adjustment and a single turn rotation from fully On to Off, the drag knobs are backlit and are adjusted accordingly (depending on the lighting conditions) by a light sensor built into the digital readout. For easy viewing and detented to give a "dial-in feel", ensuring that settings are always maintained.

Quick Setup

Unique design features allow fast setup - a must if you are continuously on the move. The leveling bowl has a double threaded screw shank, which allows the bowl lock to be tightened and released quickly. Very handy when you are constantly adjusting the bowl to level the camera (especially on uneven terrain).

Vinten flowtech 100 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Mid-Level Spreader and Rubber Feet

The Vinten flowtech 100 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Mid-Level Spreader and Rubber Feet eschews the common single or double carbon fiber tube design; instead, it has redesigned the shape of the legs for improved torsional strength. The legs weigh just over 9 pounds, including rubber feet and spreader, yet they can support a payload of up to 66 pounds, and extend from a minimum height of 20.5" to a maximum height of 61" when using the included removable mid-level spreader. Each leg features a single clamping lever that locks and unlocks the sections.

Each leg extends or retracts independently from the other two, and when it is detached from the spreader each leg can pivot without affecting the other legs. This is especially useful when working on rough or uneven terrain. You can remove the spreader completely and lock each leg in one of three positions, so you can work without a spreader if you wish. This enables you to spread the legs extremely wide for low shots while the tripod legs maintain their torsional stability. The dual spikes at the end of each leg provide extra grip when working on softer ground, and you can snap on the included rubber feet onto the dual spikes for better grip when working on hard or delicate surfaces. Included with the legs are an attachment mount and a carry handle that mount on the side of the bowl using the 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes.

• The legs incorporate a locking mechanism that enables the legs to move freely for working with a spreader, or to lock at one of three angles when working without a spreader.
• With the spreader, the height range is 20.5 to 61". However, if you remove the mid-level spreader and utilize the built-in locking mechanism, the usable height range is 10.2 to 60.2".
• When closing the legs, there is room for the mid-level spreader to be folded up while remaining attached. The legs feature a magnetic locking system strong enough to hold them together during transport, but it also allows you to easily release the legs when you want to set them up.
