This Stainless Steel Wire Diffusion Set from Matthews is made up of five 7-1/4" circular scrims, designed to reduce light output at the source when used with open face, non-Fresnel lighting instruments. The full scrims reduce light evenly across the beam output, the half scrims reduce a portion of the beam and are used when the light is striking the plane of the subject or background at an angle. The kit includes one full-single, two full-double, one half-single, and one half-double scrims. Scrims may be stacked to achieve limitless variation of light intensity for nuanced control, without affecting color temperature.
These stainless steel scrims are impervious to rust and provide durable use under uneven, intense heat from quartz and HMI lights. The circular steel rims are color-coded for rapid ease of use and repeatable set-ups.
