Taking their popular J48 direct box and adapting it for stereo or dual mono sources, the J48 Stereo Phantom Powered Active Direct Box from Radial Engineering is constructed from rugged 14-gauge steel, making it at home on the stage and in the studio. Its design allows for low distortion and a very neutral sound to retain the natural tone of your instrument. A -15 dB pad and selectable high-pass filter at 80 Hz allow you to work with higher-volume sources and eliminate lower-frequency rumble if desired.
The J48 Stereo requires 48V phantom power, and employs a switching power supply that uses the 48V to increase headroom and lower distortion. A polarity reverse switch enables you to correct any polarity issues, while the ground loop helps eliminate hum.
