The Freedom Car Mount System from Matthews Studio Equipment allows you to mount a heavier cinema camera on a car, truck, boat, or other nonporous surfaces. It supports loads up to 80 lb and features an array of Matthews grip components to provide the necessary materials for a secure car rig.

Matthews has assembled this mounting hardware kit as an expandable platform for crafting complex but safe vehicle-based camera rigs. The lynchpin of the Freedom system is a 10" vacuum cup equipped with a 360° rotating grip head. This grip head then accepts two parallel Matthews Ricky Rods, modular 5/8" rods with 1/2"-13 threads to accommodate rigs large and small; eight 10" pieces and two right angle segments of Ricky Rod are included. From there, use the additional vacuum cups and grip heads to precisely position the swivel head camera mount, which features a standard hole pattern with holes and slots to mount cameras directly or using your dovetail slide plate. All the Freedom Car Mount system grip heads carry Matthews's standard large and easy-to-grip T-handles.
