The DWM-02N/30A from Sony is a wireless handheld transmitter designed for Sony DWX wireless systems. This is just the transmitter—the capsule is made available separately, to better suit your individual needs—but it provides a high-quality, fully digital operation with low latency and reliable RF transmission modes. Thus, it is suitable for theater, live sound, and studio broadcasting.

The transmitter enables wireless transmission of 24-bit audio at sample rates of up to 96 kHz, and with latencies as low as 1.5 ms. It broadcasts over the UHF band, utilizing an encrypted, secure audio transmission.

In general, the DWX series (of which this transmitter is a part), works with Sony control software Wireless Studio for PC and Wireless Studio Mobile, allowing users flexible control over the DWX system. Remote control of up to 82 DWM transmitters can be achieved using the Cross Remote function combined with a separately available remote control unit.

MODE1 offers compatibility with DWX series applications. MODE2 offers higher quality sound and low latency ideal for theater, tour, and broadcast applications. MODE3 provides more reliable RF transmission ideal for speech applications.

Incorporating an improved digital modulator, the digital wireless microphone system allows highly stable wireless transmission that is extremely tolerant to unwanted interference. In addition, the system transmits and receives digitally modulated and encrypted data to minimize the risk of interception, providing highly secure transmission and reception.

Simultaneous Multi-Channel Operation

The digital wireless microphone system allows for large-scale multi-channel operations. Thanks to the digital modulator, the system achieves an intermodulation-free, equally spaced channel allocation. The digital wireless transmission technology used in this system enables a significant increase in the number of simultaneous operations in comparison with current analogue wireless systems. For example, up to 16 channels of simultaneous operation is possible within an 8 MHz operating band.
