The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Black Diffusion/FX 1/4 Filter helps soften strong light that goes into the lens and creates a glowing effect. This makes the resulting photo look gentler and dreamier, without losing the clear details. This filter works by spreading the light going into the lens in a special way, creating a soft glow instead of a sharp and clear image you get without the filter. The 1/4 level of softening is a bit less than the 1/2.

Tiffen makes these filters using ColorCore technology. They carefully put together two pieces of glass, making them super flat and only 1/10,000th of an inch apart. This filter is about 4 x 5.65" in size, which is around 101.6 x 143.5mm.
