The KJ17ex7.7B IASE II S 2/3" HDgc Servo Lens from Canon is a 17x zoom lens ideal for HD ENG capture using professional 2/3" B4-mount video cameras. This zoom features a compact, rugged design, a built-in 2x extender, and support for HD footage with minimized chromatic aberration and enhanced sharpness across the image. The Type-S servo drive increases the lens' operational efficiency and reduces power consumption.

Focus, zoom, and iris are all servo controlled, providing extremely smooth zoom, focus, and iris pulls. The Type-S digital drive unit uses three 20-pin connectors for interfacing with controllers like the ZSC-300D and FPD-400D and provides a 16-bit interface to virtual systems. It also has an onboard display for setting up a variety of functions, including Shuttle Shot, Frame Preset, and Speed Preset.

Compact, Rugged Zoom

Ideal for HD ENG capture and other in-the-field productions, this compact and rugged 17x zoom has a focal length range of 7.7-131mm and 15.4-262mm with the built-in 2x extender.

HD Optical Performance

  • Offers improved HD optical performance with fluorite and Hi-UD (high-index, ultra-low dispersion) optical glass.
  • Reduced monochromatic and chromatic aberrations.
  • Enhanced sharpness at both the image center and edges.

Improved Ergonomics

  • The slimmer width of the drive reduces stress by lessening the distance between the operator's arm and the lens.
  • The space between the focus ring and the drive unit has been increased, reducing the chance of interference.
  • A new rubber grip, tactile surface, and redesigned shape and size improve the ergonomic servo design.

Type-S Drive Unit

  • Matches the aberration-correction function on the camera without initialization at power-on.
  • A 10% reduction in power consumption for FIZ when using a battery as compared to previous versions.
  • Real and virtual images can easily be calibrated with high-precision position detection.
  • Three 20-pin connectors enable simultaneous full servo and virtual system operation.
  • Easy operation with a straightforward menu and display.

Digital Functions

  • Shuttle Shot: Select and save in and out focal points for repeatable zooms.
  • Frame Preset: Preset two angles of view and zoom in and out at your preferred speed.
  • Speed Preset: Save and repeat zooms at slow, stable speeds.
