ARRI Arrimax 18/12 Overview

B&H has put together this ARRI ARRIMAX 18/12 HMI Kit with Ballast for productions that require a massive amount of light. The kit includes an ARRIMAX 8/12kW HMI PAR lamp head with 4-way barndoors, a 50' head-to-ballast cable, and an EB MAX 12/18 ballast. Separate purchase of a 12 or 18kW HMI lamp is required for use.

ARRI Arrimax 18/12Kw HMI PAR (220 VAC)

The design of the Arrimax 18/12Kw HMI PAR fixture provides an optimum choice for productions requiring maximum light output. Combining the variable beam spread of a Fresnel and the light output of a PAR, the Arrimax uses a unique reflector concept for beam control which eliminates the need for spread lenses.

The optical system with its 580mm (22.8") diameter specular, flatted reflector is adjustable and provides continuous focus from 15 - 50°. Because the Arrimax does not require a set of spread lenses, the shadow quality is sharper and easily cut.

Although exact specifications are not available, this fixture will provide well over 3,000 footcandles from a distance of 100', when fitted with a 12,000 watt HMI lamp.

Optional accessories are barndoors, 29" diameter scrims and a motorized stirrup.

Hanging or Stand Mount

Aluminum yoke mounts to a Junior (1-1/8") socket.

Sturdy, Sure Lamp Mount

A sturdy, locking GX51 lamp base alleviates mechanical stress from the lamp pins. GX38 lamp bases may also be used.

Optional Electronic Ballast

A flicker-free 12-18kW electronic, dimming ballast is available separately.

Extra Touches

Illuminated On/Off Switch, hour use counter.

This ARRI 50' Head to Ballast Cable for ARRI 18/12Kw HMI Fresnel and ARRIMAX 18/12kW connects the ARRI 18/12Kw HMI Frensel and ARRIMAX 18/12kW PAR to its ballast.

ARRI EB MAX 12/18 Ballast

The ARRI EB MAX 12/18 Ballast is intended for use with select ARRI fresnel lamp heads. This ballast has ALF (Active Line Filter), which provides a higher power factor resulting in more efficient power use. This is accomplished by shifting the voltage and current waveforms in phase and minimizing harmonics and spikes. ALF also minimizes the current carried back on the neutral leg of the power systems. Cable Loss Compensation, which prevents power loss in head-to-ballast cables up to 300' long, is also featured. The ballast has a low-noise switch and a power factor of 0.99.

This ballast has substantial DMX control. In addition to On/Off and dimming, both operation mode and frequency can be controlled remotely. For ease of use, indicators on the ballast's front panel display the lamp wattage, DMX channel, operation mode, and selected lamp frequency. High speed shooters will appreciate features such as Active Line Filter (ALF), and AutoScan, ensuring optimum light and image quality for high-speed recordings up to 1000 fps.

ARRI 4 Leaf Barndoor Set for Arri T24

This is an Arri 4 Leaf Barndoor Set for the huge T24 Fresnel. Barndoors attach to the front of a light and are used to restrict light from areas of a set. They have either four or eight leaves that can be adjusted. Arri barndoors are heat resistant and rotatable.
