The 11' Long John Silver Jr. Crank-Operated Light Stand is one of the largest stands offered by Avenger, consisting of three winch-driven risers to support heavy-duty light fixtures for professional productions. Fast-acting gas pistons and foam-filled wheels ensure comfortable and consistent operation across different shooting environments.
The Long John Silver Jr. uses a powerful crank-operated winch system to lift some of the largest lights for demanding cinematic and commercial productions. At its maximum height of 134", the stand can support fixtures up to 264 lb, withstanding the massive weight of high-output HMIs or heavy-duty LED panels This makes it perfect for simulating natural sun or moonlight on set. The gas-assisted winch mechanism raises lights at a quick pace while a safety clutch provides peace of mind while derigging lights. One of the stand's three legs can be independently leveled to ensure proper weight distribution on inclined surfaces, and a built-in bubble level confirms these settings.
A high-capacity light stand is limited without mobility, but the Long John Silver Jr. stands solve the problem of transporting heavy fixtures with its rugged built-in wheels. Importantly Avenger has chosen to equip the stand with foam-filled wheels rather than traditional pneumatic tires, avoiding flats and saving time on set. Rugged foam-filled wheels also help to navigate uneven or rocky terrain, perfect for location shooting. Powerful brakes are integrated into each wheel for optimum safety.
