The Pantograph Top 4C model from Manfrotto is made of aluminum and features a 5/8" male mount on the bottom and a 5/8" female on top. Your load is supported by a steel cable that's 2mm in diameter. Loads up to 26 lb can be suspended by the pantograph as it comes, by friction alone, while up to 39.7 lb can be supported with perfect balance if you add optional springs. (This extra-long version of the Pantograph supports springs with a blue notch ring, such as MFR# FF3533. Please see the Accessories section for more info.)
Friction is adjustable by turning the colored notched ring. This will ensure that the load remains stable when set in position but will move smoothly up and down when necessary.
