The Lowboy Vator III Double Riser from Matthews is a heavy duty cranking light stand designed to support large lighting fixtures. The all-metal construction allows for a maximum load capacity of 200 lb, which can be lifted to a height of 5.4' and lowered to 2.9' while retaining stability. For transport and storage, the stand folds to 3.4' in length and weighs 66 lb.
The lift function of the stand is controlled by a primary crank which utilizes a rack-and-pinion configuration to reduce the moving components in the drive train. This design requires only two moving parts, which ensures minimal wear and tear and a longer mechanical lifespan with less required maintenance.
