The HB-109 Lens Hood from Nikon is designed for the NIKKOR Z TM 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens. It prevents unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. Additionally, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
