Sony's MPEG TS Adapter Board is designed for use in the PDW-HR1 XDCAM HD422 Field Recorder. It allows satellite broadcast of recorded video in an MPEG-2 transport stream, compressing the signal for transmission to a studio from the field. This is ideal for DVB and ATSC broadcasting applications such as live news feeds.
