Transfer the weight and torque of your Steadicam system to areas of your body that allow it to not get in the way of your natural movement with the Fawcett Goofy Exovest with Large Socket Block & Soft Bag from Steadicam. The semi-rigid, exoskeletal vest has a socket block connection to the arm on the left side and features four ergonomically placed soft pads around the waistband, which allow for primary weight to be transferred to the pelvis area, and a pad system at the upper back to transfer primary torque. Upper pads provide comfort while avoiding compression of the neck, shoulder joint, shoulder blades, and spine, while lower pads safeguard the abdomen and the base of your spine from unnatural compression.
Designed without chest straps to facilitate unrestricted breathing and smooth and natural arm movement, the Exovest is equipped with rigid, sliding components and tightened using the integrated double and triple purchase straps to allow for weight-bearing functionality to be fine-tuned on the fly. The outer structure's rigidity extends the lever arm from your mid-back to high shoulder, cutting the required force needed for counterbalancing a Steadicam rig in half. The Exovest may be relaxed when not in use in between takes using the built-in over-center lever. The unit comes in a padded soft bag for storage and transport.
