The Sony RM‑DP5 Cinema Line Monitor Controller is a compact 5" monitoring and control solution designed for seamless operation with compatible Sony Cinema Line cameras. Its 5" 1920 × 1080 LCD touchscreen delivers 2000 cd/m² brightness, ensuring clear visibility even under strong daylight. The integrated control knob provides precise tactile control for focus and lens operations, making the DP5 ideal for both wired and wireless workflows.
Sony’s professional color calibration ensures high color accuracy, compensating for color temperature drift during extended use. Users can apply S‑Log3 LUTs or load up to 16 custom LUT presets via SD card for consistent monitoring across productions.
The detachable control knob enables responsive focus pulls and supports touch focus and touch tracking with compatible FX cameras. The Lens Control page offers zoom control, adjustable zoom speed, and focus point marking for accurate lens operation.
A BIG6 button layout along the display provides fast access to key settings including FPS, ISO, shutter, iris, look, and white balance. Additional controls include REC, ITEM keys, ASSIGN buttons, and a multifunction dial. The monitor also displays a Time Counter and Audio Level Meter simultaneously.
For monitoring, the DP5 offers waveform, vectorscope, false color, zebra, aspect markers, de‑squeeze, peaking, and up to 6× zoom via double‑tap or pinch gestures. Wired control is available through Ethernet and USB‑C, while wireless operation is enabled by connecting a third‑party transmitter via HDMI input, supporting video transmission up to 4K.
The unit is powered by a Sony BP‑U battery, USB‑C, or DC input, with support for hot‑swapping. Its rugged aluminum body includes four 1/4"-20 threads and four strap slots for flexible mounting and one‑handed operation. A built‑in cooling fan with selectable modes ensures stable performance in demanding environments.
